Pigs that are happy and free from stress produce the best quality meat and pigs are at their happiest when they can root about in woodland looking for their favourite foods.

The woodland pigs are specifically bred using Landrace and Duroc breeds which have characteristics of succulence and flavour when cooked. The meat is bright reddish pink in colour with excellent marbling, resulting in a natural flavoured pork with superior tenderness and juiciness.

These pigs are reared completely outside which allows them the freedom to enjoy their natural environment and produce meat that is bred for flavour not for yields. You will find that there is more fat covering than normal pork but the flavour contained within this is rendered down into the meat when cooking to give a flavour that is unsurpassed. The taste is how pork should be, sweet with a soft succulent texture that should never be over cooked.
