This Christmas why not switch things up with a delicious difference to your festive feasting. Maybe you’re cooking for someone new, and you want to make a big impression. Perhaps you’re making the most of seeing friends and family and you’re in need of some inspiration. Or maybe you simply just don’t like turkey, or you fancy trying something different this year…
Then this is for you – our top suggestions for tasty alternatives to the traditional Christmas turkey roast.
A Roasted Centrepiece
Still enjoy a roast with all the trimmings but try one of these alternatives to wow your guests with a centrepiece fit for a 5-star restaurant.
Christmas Porchetta
This Italian-inspired family roast is Christmas on a plate. A mouth-watering list of ingredients including sweet apricots, juicy apple, sour cranberries, fresh herbs, smoky paprika, vibrant orange zest and warm spices, make up the fragrant stuffing that fills a soft, tender pork belly roulade. Hand-rolled and ready to pop straight into the oven. It’s easy to carve into perfect slices to serve 3-4 people.
Roast one of our free-range Whole Ducks for rich, flavoursome, dark meat. Duck is exceptional when paired with strong flavours like citrussy orange marmalade, spiced red cabbage or sour cranberries and is ideal for an indulgent gathering with friends. Or choose our individual Duck Breasts for a special meal just for two.
A great choice for an easier roast, our lean boneless leg of Welsh Pork is best when slow roasted for several hours. Simply season well, rub fresh herbs and gentle spices into the skin and roast on a high heat for half an hour to get that lovely crisp crackling. Then turn down the heat and slow roast for at least three hours. Leaving you plenty of time to enjoy being with loved ones, getting some fresh air or relaxing by the fire.
Ok, so it’s still Turkey but these are a great alternative to save the hassle of a full bird roast. Tender turkey breast is rolled around our flavour-packed apricot or cranberry stuffing and wrapped in smoked streaky bacon to create individually sized Paupiettes. Serve with oven-roasted mixed root vegetables, creamy mash and ready-made gravy for a simple but spectacular meal for one or two.

Dry-aged for incredible flavour, this on-the-bone cut makes a stunning centrepiece. Marbled with rich flavoursome fats, the rib turns a deep brown when roasted. Serve the whole carvery rib to the table and carve tender pink slices for your guests to enjoy with hot horseradish sauce, creamy dauphinoise potatoes, sweet roasted parsnips, and greens.
