CHRISTMAS DINNER IS ARGUABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL OF THE YEAR.
And this year, no matter how you’ll be celebrating, whether it’s with family or without, Christmas dinner will provide a pause for celebration. It’s an occasion full of tradition, providing the opportunity to dress the table, to sit down together, to raise a glass to loved ones near or far, to take stock of a year like no other and to laugh, or cry.
Everyone has their own (often strong!) feelings about when and what to eat at Christmas but whatever the choice it has to be special. This year your Christmas dinner needs to be exceptional.
CHOOSE GREAT NOT GOOD MEAT
And no matter how good or bad your culinary skills, you just can’t cook an exceptional dinner with poor quality meat.
We want our meat to be the best you’ve ever tasted. So that’s why it’s important that all our animals are reared and cared for with respect. And why our butchers then prepare our meat with attention to detail and a lot of experience.
Buying your meat from us at Douglas Willis means you’ll get the very best cuts of meat, raised in the rolling, green Welsh valleys, and dry-aged to perfection ready to be turned into the ultimate Christmas meal.
So, looking for some Christmas meat ideas?
TRADITIONAL OR SOMETHING DIFFERENT
Traditional turkey with all the trimmings is an obvious favourite for Christmas dinner. Our delicious, succulent Free Range Bronze Whole Turkeys will give you the most delicious meat fit for a feast (and plenty for leftovers too). But this year could be a great opportunity to try something a bit different.
Our Tender Sirloin of Welsh Beef Joint is a totally luxurious alternative to the traditional Christmas roast. Cooked perfectly, slices of this melt in the mouth beef served with rich beef gravy, hot horseradish and perhaps a dauphinoise rather than roast potatoes will certainly not disappoint.
You may be spending Christmas with fewer people than normal, so the thought of preparing and cooking a full roast dinner just for 2 might feel a bit unnecessary. But it’s no reason for the dinner not to be so special. What could be more indulgent than a wonderful, dry-aged Welsh Fillet Steak, or our perfectly portioned Turkey Paupiettes. Served with delicious greens, root vegetable mash and a rich creamy cauliflower cheese. It’s an extravagant meal without the effort (or all those greasy pans to wash up!).
MAKE IT EASY WITH OUR CHRISTMAS HAMPERS
Once you’ve decided on what to eat it’s simply a case of ordering with us for delivery to your door. Christmas deliveries will be made this year between 19th – 22nd December.
Why not take a look at our Traditional Turkey Hampers? Containing everything you need for a delicious festive feast – all you need do is add your favourite vegetables. And they’re not just for Christmas Dinner either. Our Gourmet Steak Hamper is perfect for Christmas Eve or Boxing Day. And our Christmas Welsh Breakfast Hamper provides you with everything needed to make breakfast at Christmas time extra special.
So, this Christmas, enjoy the simple things. Enjoy great, not just good food. Support local, independent farmers and family butchers, and take your Christmas meal to the next level with exceptional meat from Douglas Willis.
